As the granddaughter of a winemaker, I’m especially proud of my close collaboration with Landgut Schöne Erde — a family-run winery crafting exceptional wines in the Wachau and Kamptal regions.

“Sediment I”, wine label Grüner Veltliner in cooperation with “Landgut Schöne Erde”, 2025
Colored pigment print, reworked with graphite and colored pencil
Schellmann explores the beauty of the soil from the loess vineyard Heiliger Graben in Langenlois, where the wine is grown. She gives visibility to subterranean, invisible minerals.
In a transmedial process combining microscopy, photography, digital image editing, printing, and analog graphite and colored pencil drawing, she enters into an artistic dialogue with these natural structures.
Through drawing, her dots, lines, and shapes speak of the delight in the revealed microcosm. Nature and grape variety provide the framework for the selection of colors and forms.
