Screen Printing Editions 2025
Works from the artist residency at the
Screen Printing Workshop Viadukt Vienna (2025/26)
With these editions Denise Schellmann transforms her drawing process into an iterative screen-printing method. Through microscopic observation, she gives greater visibility to the smallest building blocks of life in each printing step.
The spontaneous idea of the artwork is analytically deconstructed in a multi-stage process: first broken down into its fundamental components, then reassembled layer by layer, respectively form by form, into a whole, into the work itself.
Screenprints are available in the Viadukt online-shop.

Mixed media – colored pencil and graphite on pigment print
Denise Schellmann begins by delving into the often-overlooked beauty of the small: rendering the invisible visible through light-microscopic photographs drawn from the everyday environment.
With these organic structures, forms, and tissues, she enters into a delicate dialogue in drawing. Her dots, lines, and shapes speak of wonder — a reverent joy in synthesis with the microcosm.
Nature itself provides the framework, guiding the choice of colors and forms, while art, in turn, opens and expands upon nature with spontaneous gesture.
