Invitation PARALLEL Vienna 2025

FormaCorpus is the collaboration of the visual artists Denise Schellmann and Daniel Sommergruber.

The project “Perspective & Perception” examines and visualizes living spaces and body forms, as well as the microscopic and invisible structures underlying them.

The focus is on the complex and multifaceted relationship between seeing and feeling. Situated between figuration and abstraction, the works invite viewers to reflect on perspectives, perceptual filters, and chains of association.

Sommergruber’s exploration of space, figure, and perspective investigates the ordinariness of the ordinary. In the interplay of these three components, he stages exaggerated situational expressions of emotions.

Schellmann makes the microcosm visible. By looking beneath the surface of the physical ordinary, she maps the intermediate spaces of perception—areas between structural, biomorphic order and spontaneous chaos. Through drawing, she explores elementary particles, crystals, and cells.

“Perspective & Perception” invites a dialogue between artwork, perception, and emotions.
