Invisibles 25+

The exploration of the invisible through studies of the smallest building blocks and the mathematical order of the cosmos.

Elementary biomorphic forms, freely and spontaneously shaped, emerge as colorful testimonies of creation. Intuitively explored as visible traces of life itself, they are juxtaposed with a scientific-analytical order that offers stability through monotonously reduced structures.

The search aims at the beginning of everything. Here, the aporia of freedom and order is placed in contradictory relation, expressed through a mixed technique of acrylic, colored pencil, and graphite.

The dynamics of the drawing

emerges from the contradiction between two different methods: process-oriented and goal-
oriented.

The various formal motifs are created intuitively, unplanned: as surfaces, shapes and lines. Denise Schellmann juxtaposes them with
deliberately and repetitively constructed, hieroglyphic-like colour panels as elements of order. The freedom of art and the order of science engage in
creative dialogue.
